2012 Light In The Attic Road Trip - Episode 5
It’s been a wild and wooly ride, that’s for sure. In this Episode our kings-of-the-road finally reach LA, hit up some sick record stores, and end up at our SOLD OUT 10 Year Anniversary Concert at the El Rey! What a way to end a trip. We couldn’t have asked for more! Thanks again to all the stores who let us inside and all the buds who came out to visit us along the way! Y’all made this a trip to remember.
Music featured in this episode:
Rodriguez - Can’t Get Away (bonus track off our Coming From Reality reissue)
Cherokee - Funky Business (off the compilation Country Funk 1969-1975)

Road Trip - Day 12
The road goes on forever - or at least until exit 34, I-99 N. Quasimoto, prepare to pull back the camouflage curtain because soon we’ll be piloting the van back into the dark subterranean compound we call Seattle…ahem, I mean…LITA HQ. Same diff.
But before we get all post-partum depression on you, let’s not forget the good old days of last weekend. Not to mention the weekend before that - and all days in between while we’re at it! Our forbearers warned us it would be a long strange trip out there, and were they ever right on, man. But they left out the part about all the amazing people we would meet, and places we’d go along the way. Of course, those interstellar day trippers of the past had their own stories to tell. Janis, Jerry, Jim, Jimi, and all the other names and letters too. But that’s the ancient past, brother, and this is now. And really, where else would you wanna be?!
What were we saying? It’s a jungle out there - a concrete one, full of record stores and the people who conjured them into existence. And you know what? It’s getting wilder, and more crowded every day. But not in a “I swore last year was the last year I’d go to Coachella” way. This is our kind of crowd - one populated by people passionate about music, and doing their damndest to spread the everloving word to the masses - one platter at a time. So again, I implore you, my friends - don’t listen to the man…or the hippies. The best things in life aren’t free. They cost mooooo-laaa, greenbacks, buckets of ducats - straight moneeeeee, baby!! So what are you waiting for - get down to your local wax emporium and show your hard-working music merchants how much you care. Not with affection, or words. You can’t hold that make-out slobber in your mouth forever (ewww), and science has proven you can’t put your arms around a memory, so invest in something with staying power - physical music!
And with that we retire the side, folks. We’ll see you soon - if we don’t see you sooner. Until then, keep a light on for us.
